Although it is quite difficult to detect victims of trafficking due to the almost "invisible" nature of the issue some of the signs that suggest someone is a victim of human trafficking include- appearing malnourished, physical injuries that suggest abuse such as broken bones and bruising, avoiding eye contact, not replying when spoken to, lacking any sort of identification, untreated STD's, poor dental health, submissive attitude, living with their employer, PTSD, and tattoos or branding on lower neck or back. If you think someone may be a victim of trafficking, report a tip to the National Human Trafficking Hotline (1-888-373-7888).
